“Great little room, perfect for an overnight stay. There isn’t much space for luggage or belongings, but it has everything needed for a comfortable rest. Good location, excellent hot water pressure, and a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the room was warm and cosy.”
“Overall, great stay experience for 1-2 nights and great service from the Staff. Great value for the location and quality of the experience. Although rooms, it was a great value for the price. Shower and toilets were really clean, had a smelly bathroom at start but nothing an open window ventilation can't fix. Great thing- shower and toilet were separate, so two person can simultaneously and conveniently shower and drop a spud, on a rush hour morning. Corridors were clean and simply elegant with remnant of the old brick structure. Can't forget to mention, the staff allowed me early check in at 11am with no extra cost, on my request which exceeded our expectations. Thank you!”
“If you are looking at the hotel (looking at the NAB sign) the walk-in entrance is to the right on Ultimo Road (if you get to Woolworths you’ve gone too far). We got upgraded to a new family room. What a treat! It had a king bed and two singles. Room was large, with a small two-seat table and a side bench. Bathroom had what was needed - a bit more bench space would be helpful. The room was modern, clean, beautiful wall art. I would recommend a full length mirror. It’s amazing the building is over 100 years old, but they have done a wonderful job with upgrades. Double glazed windows. Lovely entrance foyer. Hotel staff were friendly. Great location - 500 meters from Central Station, tram nearby, walkable to major attractions. I would stay again!”
“We stayed here for 2 nights and overall we had a really nice and comfortable experience It may not be perfect, but honestly for the price, it’s definitely worth it. The location is really great—very convenient if you’re visiting Sydney, close to everything you need, and easy to get around. That was a big plus for us. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Everyone was super friendly, approachable, and always ready to help. You can really feel the good service, which made our stay more enjoyable and relaxing. The room itself was a bit small, but still good and cozy. The bed was very comfortable, and we were able to rest well after a long day. The WiFi was also strong and reliable, which is important for us, especially when planning our day or just relaxing at night. One thing we noticed was the noise. You can hear some sounds from outside, and also from above—like footsteps or people walking, and sometimes staff talking in the morning. It might be a bit disturbing for light sleepers, but for us, it was still manageable and didn’t really ruin our stay. Maybe just something the hotel can improve in the future. I also want to give a special shoutout to Joseph and Yu from the front desk—they were amazing! Very kind, friendly, and accommodating. They really went out of their way to help me and even gave me a small favour, which I truly appreciate. It’s staff like them that make you want to come back. Overall, even with a few minor things, we still enjoyed our stay. It’s a good balance of value, location, and service. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family who are planning to visit Sydney. And yes, we will surely come back again and give it another try next time Thank you so much! “The Ultimo — ½ A handy spot in an excellent location, close to Chinatown and Darling Harbour. Walking distance to trams, trains, ferries, Paddy's Market, and a huge range of restaurants. The room is on the small side and the bathroom follows suit, but it's clean, tidy, and fine for a short stay. The bed is genuinely comfortable, which makes all the difference after a long day. Wifi is ok, and the TV is local free-to-air only with no casting. A solid 3.5 stars and a great pick for a 1–3 night stay when location is the priority.”
“We had mixed feelings about our stay. The hotel is in a great location and everything was clean and well maintained. It was also a busy weekend in Sydney, so prices everywhere were quite high, but overall it still felt a bit expensive for the experience. Weekend of the 28th February Unfortunately, we didn’t get the best rest during our stay. The walls seem quite thin and the first two nights we were placed in a room next to the housekeeping office. Early in the morning there was a lot of noise from doors being opened and closed and staff talking and laughing, which made it hard to sleep. The positive side is that when we mentioned this to the staff, they were very understanding and during our next stay they kindly upgraded us to another room. It was definitely quieter and we appreciated the effort, although the soundproofing in general still seemed a bit limited. Overall, the location and cleanliness are great, and we appreciated how the staff handled our concern, but the noise did affect our ability to fully rest.”
